One-day-trip to the volcano Rincón where you can enjoy mud baths and hot well-springs with approximately 45 degrees Celsius. The 1895 meters high vulcano Rincón is located in the La Vieja national park where the main attractions are bubbling mud holes. Travel time from the hotel to the vulcan is about 3 hours. Overnight accommodation possible.

Barra Honda is a genuine object of interest. The about 23 km2 big national park houses a tropical dry forest and is well-known for one of the biggest cave systems in Costa Rica. The park also includes hiking trails. Travel time from the hotel to the park is about 1,5 hours.

The 138 km long Rio Tempisque flows from the Guanacaste Cordillera through the Palo Verde National Park and opens out into the Gulf of Nicoya. Take a day trip by boat, led by a local guide and watch crocodiles, birds, and many more exotic animals. Travel time to the river is about 2 hours.

Journey to Guaitil, the center of ceramic art of Chorotega Indians. In simple, clay furnace they burn paunchy vases, jars and pots with the geometric pattern in pre-Columbian style. On the return visit of Santa Cruz, which themselves refer as the "folk capital" of the country. The year-round well-kept musical tradition reaches its climax in mid-January, when traditional dances are performed and costumed people parade through the streets.
